Former Andrews Chief of Police Christopher Cockrell presented special awards of recognition to Corporal Leister and Officer Hopkins for saving the life of a resident. Had it not been for them, the results would have been fatal. They witnessed the occurrence and provided life-saving measures until the paramedics arrived. These two men are great examples of “protect and serve.” Additionally, Mayor McClary presented Shining Star Awards to our former Chief and Major Doloes Chandler for four years of dedicated service. Their efforts are truly appreciated. We wish them well in their new journey.

We were fortunate to have had two exceptionally smart, insightful, and focused summer interns this year! We’re wishing them both an amazing school year! Thank you, Ms. Kaylee and Ms. Bianca Hughes!

Ironically, his grandson, Bill Wisneski, is an Emmy Award-winning documentary director/cinematographer on the West Coast who had no idea that his grandfather was a photographer or filmmaker. The discovery of an old article in a family member's possession brought this moment together, despite the time and distance.
